Challenging Interview Questions

I have recently spoken with several professional candidates who have been caught off guard by the basic interview question “Tell me about yourself”. This question is typically presented at the beginning of an interview and often appears to be more conversational in nature. As a word of caution, this is not the time or place to get personal (i.e. number of children, family situation, where you have lived etc.). Seize the opportunity to immediately highlight your relevant education, skills, and experience (especially recent work experience), tailoring it to the position for which you are interviewing. Keep your response to 2 – 3 minutes. To best prepare for an interview, use the internet to research other common interview questions.
